"Edit value" doesn't work

Steps: select multiple rows → click "Edit value" → selection is cleared

Unable to edit multiple cells in a field at once.

When I select multiple rows and click Edit value, the selected rows are immediately deselected and the bulk edit dialog does not open. As a result, it is not possible to update the value of a field for multiple records simultaneously.

This issue occurs for all fields and is reproducible even when no filters or grouping are applied.

Hi @Ecaterina Dvornic, bulk editing in databases works on cells within a single column, not on whole rows, so selecting rows and clicking Edit value drops the selection instead of opening a dialog. Shift+click the cells you want in that one column, right click, and choose Bulk edit, then enter the value once and it applies to every selected cell.

If that exact gesture also clears your selection or won't open the dialog, then it's a real bug rather than the wrong entry point. Reproduce it once in an incognito window with browser extensions disabled (and ideally a second browser) to rule out a local cause, and if it still happens your repro steps are already clean enough to send straight to Atlassian Support. This does NOT work for multiple cells in a column.  when can this be fixed and repaired.  This was working fine from Feb until May 31.  And there is NO right click Bulk Edit.

I have tried this in both edge and chrome and both in incognito for each.  Still same problem exists.   It seems to affect columns that are with the following field types =

Well... in hindsight, I found the 'dumbest' work around....

Select your column of cells

       

using the pop-up toolbar at the bottom

Click Ask Rovo
Here in my 4 cells, I am using a tag I created called "Pending" and I want to mark them all as Pending.
So "ASK ROVO" to "mark pending" 
Click the blue arrow

SLOWLY, Rovo thinks and analyzes 

SLOWLY, Rovo does the work

     

AND COMPLETED (PAINFULLY)

Hi @Ecaterina Dvornic I found CONFCLOUD-82418 on Atlassian's Jira Site which sounds similar to the functionality you are looking for.  I would suggest voting for and watching it for updates.  It would add some additional functionality to bulk edit selected rows/columns.

I went ahead and voted for it too.

I too voted for this one as well, and I added a new comment with screenshot examples of the problem that has just started as of 06/01/2026.  I built out my database table in Feb 2026 and everything was working as expected until 06/01/2026 when the bulk edit of the following field types broke:

I have this SAME exact issue and problem.  It only just happened as of this week.   Something changed.   

I used to be able to select multiple cells in a column which is using tags (column field type = tag) and using the bottom black bar the "Edit Values" and I could change all the tags for that selection of rows.   Now when I click the edit values on the black bar it just disappears and clears the selection.   

I have tried this in both edge and chrome and both in incognito for each.  Still same problem exists.   It seems to affect columns that are with the following field types =

On a side note, I am able to select multiple column cells and edit changes for only Text and Date 

Images below show the field name and field type, and a single cell tag selection followed by the multiple column cell selection with the black bar edit values.  I cannot show you any more than that because when I click edit values, it deselects the cells and disappears
