java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Serialized value cannot be longer than 99,000 characters

We are encountering the following error while installing apps(most of the apps) using the Atlassian CLI. The issue is causing our Bitbucket pipeline to report a failure status.

Error Details:

  • Exception: java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Serialized value cannot be longer than 99,000 characters

  • Class: com.atlassian.confluence.impl.settings.ConfluencePluginSettings.putActual() — line 153

  • Triggered by: com.atlassian.upm.core.log.PluginSettingsAuditLogService.saveEntryAndPurge() — line 155

Environment:

  • Confluence Data Center EAP Version: 10.2.2

Could you please review this issue and provide your guidance on the root cause and recommended resolution?

Please let us know if any additional logs or details are required from our side.

Hi @Kiran Muthoju _Appfire_

Seems like there is an issue the the UPM app on this version of Confluence, is see it's an EAP relaese, I would reach out to Atlassian on this, as mentioned by @Tomislav Tobijas as well.

Hi @Kiran Muthoju _Appfire_ ,

Prob won't be able to help here much, but have you tried updating to 10.2.6 to see if that will fix the issue?

If you'd like to stay on 10.2.2, it might be the best bet to reach out to Atlassian Support, as they will, most likely, be able to troubleshoot this 👀

Cheers,
Tobi
