we are upgrading our instance to datacenter 8.5.5 version

if the binaries are same then 
shall we upgrade first and then update the license for datacenter ?

Hi @Pavan you do not need to update the license before upgrading.

Hi @Pavan , 

yes the binaries are the same between Server and Data Center. Changing the license from Server to DC will unlock the DC features.

For your question on upgrading, it does not make any difference. Just make sure you upgrade with a valid license, because an expired one will prevent you upgrading.

It is strongly recommended that you update the licence before upgrade.

You will need to upgrade the licences for all of your apps as well.
