i have copied a confluence page need to edit the content on the new page created

Are the page created by you or someone else ? It is possible that the page owner has set restrictions on the page you are trying to edit.

I have got the edit access but I am still unable to edit text on childtabs, is there a way i can achieve that?

If you have got edit access on the page, you should be able to edit content on it. Are you using any plugin/ macro to create tabs ? Probably a screenshot will help to understand more about the problem.
