how do I recover a corrupted draw io file?

I worked on a design on my diagrams.net desktop app on my mac. It crashed few days ago while trying to export the file. Afterwards, it has been failing to open whenever I try to open and it shows the error message  (Error loading file...) shown in the screenshot below.

Please how can I recover this file back? Any help would do.
