excerpt macro inline

I am not seeing an option to select inline text for my except macro.  They all appear as blocks and I cant figure out how to change it to inline.  Can someone please help?

I assume you were reading in the documentation about the parameter to change it to display inline or in a new line, right?
Unfortunately, this only works in the legacy editor and not in the new one. I'm not aware of any other solution - maybe someone else?

Yes the inline vs block parameter is what I was looking at.  I would like a better looking format on my source data pages.  Ideally something like this: 

"Question: answer"

Not this:

"Question:

answer"

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated
