confluence only works on localhost ?

Hello,

I've installed the trial version of Confluence on http://localhost:8080, and when i try to access it from another computer with using my computer name : http://my-pc:8080, it loads, loads...and nothing is displayed.
It works only with on my computer ( http://localhost:8080 or http://my-pc:8080)

It it normal (ie. the trial limits the display to localhost) ?
Otherwise, i've modified anything (config files or admin parameters).

This is a network question rather than Atlassian - you're getting nothing on the other machines because something in your network is stopping access. If you can access an Atlassian web service locally, then there's nothing in the service that would stop it being accessible from other machines.

The main culprit is often a firewall on the local machine. It's quite common for machines intended for desktops (i.e. single user, mostly a client) to be firewalled to prevent other machines trying to connect to them. If it's not that, then it's a firewall and/or router issue on your broader network, and failing that, the most unlikely scenario is that the remote computer is running something to block access.

Problem is, it could be almost anything in the network. So start with the basics - can the remote machine "ping" your machine? Can you try it using the raw IP address instead of the remote name? Does tracert or nslookup tell you anything?

You were right, Nic. It's Windows 7 Firewall that blocked
C:\Program Files (x86)\Atlassian\Confluence\bin\tomcat6.exe

After having added a rule in the windows firewall, it's now OK.
In fact, i didn't see tomcat6.exe in the Task Manager of Windows, i had to clic "Show all process from all users" to see tomcat6.exe process.
