Write MCP access removed?

I used to be able to write confluence documents via Claude via the MCP directly, and it seems that the write confluence document access was removed form the connector?

Hi @Joel Esler, it was removed, and it's back since Monday. The write_confluence scope stopped being offered on the Atlassian consent screen, which took all four Confluence write tools out of the connector. Not your config. That's issue 204 on atlassian/atlassian-mcp-server, closed on 27 July with the scope restored.

Reconnecting, as Ajay says, is the right move, but a grant made while the bug was live doesn't pick up the fix by itself, so Write has to be ticked on the consent screen when you reauthorise. Then check id.atlassian.com/manage-profile/apps and you should see Create and update pages against the Atlassian connection. If you already reconnected since Monday and the tools are still gone, that's something else and worth saying on the issue.

I dont think write access has been removed from the MCP 

Can you make sure the MCP connector is using the latest version?

Also the connector configuration may have been updated and needs to be re-authorized with the new permission scopes. Try disconnecting and reconnecting the Confluence MCP in your Claude settings — sometimes the OAuth scopes need to be refreshed.
