Why is RBAC activation required for importing a Confluence space, and is there any way around it?

Hi everyone,

I’m trying to import a space into my Confluence Cloud instance, but I’ve noticed that the import process now automatically enables role-based access controls (RBAC) across the entire instance.

The message says that importing a space will trigger RBAC activation, which is currently in beta. However, I’d prefer not to join the beta program at this time.

Does anyone know why this requirement was introduced, and whether there’s any workaround to import a space without activating RBAC?
