Why don't inline links use correct line breaks?

When using inline links on a Confluence page, Confluence doesn't seem to know where to put a line break and inserts them in the middle of words (see the top link in the screenshot below), whereas with a regular text link, Confluence behaves like a normal webpage and knows that you should put a line break between words (see the bottom link below). I'm using a table in the example screenshot, but it happens outside of tables, too.

Is there a way to fix this?
