Why don't I find the RST macro on the list of macro, for use in a confluence page?

toan March 21, 2018

My company uses the cloud offering from Atlassian (Jira and Confluence). I am creating some wiki content and found this tip:

https://mohamicorp.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/DOC/pages/70516737/ReStructuredText+Macros+for+Confluence+RST

However, I don't see the RST macro on the list of macro choice, for inserting into my page.

Because you've not added it to your installation?

We're using the cloud offering, no installation.

So, you have not added it to your Cloud system then.

How is that done? Is that something our administrator can configure/add?

Yes, adding new macros is an admin thing - they either need to install the add-ons that provide the macro, or write the user macro (or, in my case, copy and paste someone else's code)

Thanks for actively responding to my question.

You keep mentioning install/installation, I have to ask, are you using the cloud instance of Atlassian? That is, does the url of your Confluence instance look like https://<yourCompanyName>.atlassian.com?

I'm using lots of instances, Cloud, Server and Data Centre.  Not sure what my systems have to do with your question though.

I mention installation because your question is about using a macro that needs to be installed on a system if you want to use it.
