Why does /jira macro not work from within Confluence?

Those new to the Atlassian Community have posted less than three times. Give them a warm welcome!
I signed up for Confluence within Jira, and I believe the accounts are linked. When I try to use the /jira macro within Confluence, it says that I need to connect the accounts. When I try to do that, it says no admins have an email address specified. I do have an email address specified on my account, and I am the admin.
