Why do my Database Tags not sort properly?

Nicholas Kurilla April 1, 2025

Hello,
I am having an issue where the Tags defined in my Confluence Cloud Database do not sort based on the way they were defined.

Expected behavior is for them to sort Critical>High>Medium>Low but instead they sort Critical>High>Low>Medium.
I have attached screenshots for reference.
Any ideas?
Thanks!

Hi @Nicholas Kurilla , welcome to the Community!

It seems the default sorting function is "Alphabetically", which is why you're noticing the strange behaviour with sorting the Tag column. From what I know, I do not believe there is a way to change this behaviour, outside of renaming the tags to sort alphabetically.

Something like:

1 - High

2 - Medium

3 - Low

There is an open bug ticket in the Atlassian Bug portal, which is asking for improvements to the Database feature: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CONFCLOUD-78152. I would recommend voting there and adding some comments to ask for improvements in sort.

Hope this helps!

Robert

Ah I thought it was sorting based on the tag definitions since there was a way to drag+drop them around.
Didn't even consider that it might just be alphabetically sorted.
Thanks Robert, will try that for now!
