Why am I getting "having trouble finding the verification file."

After fetching the verification file and then putting the file at the root of our website, Verify still gives

   We're having trouble finding the verification file. Make sure you've uploaded it to the root folder of your domain's website:
https://hiremojo.com/atlassian-domain-verification.html

When I went to the URL you linked I got an untrusted certificate error in my browser. It is probably a result of using a self signed SSL certificate. One of our customers used a cert from this free service and was able to verify their domain: Let’s Encrypt
