Why am I getting emails every couple months that Confluence is inactive?

I'm a single developer using Jira for my personal projects on an almost daily basis.

I only have a couple of Confluence documents that I don't need to update/access regularly right now, but I get an email every 2-3 months about how I need to log into Confluence to keep the Confluence from being deactivated.

We haven't seen you in your Confluence site, <myproject>.astlassian.net for a while so we wanted to check in. If your site continues to remain inactive, it will be deactivated on...

That link just takes me to my logged in view of Jira and I would think Confluence should be able to see my Jira activity so I'm wondering if maybe I just haven't configured Confluence correctly?

If it does deactivate can I re-enable it later? Do I lose the documents that are currently there?

Apologizes if this is documented somewhere, but I'm having had a hard time finding questions that cover this specifically.

Hi @Andrew Prendergast

Whilst this help page is for Jira, I'm pretty confident the details apply to Confluence also in your specific use case:

Inactive Free products will be deactivated

If all the Jira Cloud products on your site are on a Free plan, your Jira Cloud products will be deactivated after 120 days of inactivity. If any Jira Cloud product on your site is on a paid plan, this doesn’t apply to that site.

Activity is simply logging in and viewing any page within a Jira product on your site. For example, if you log in and view a dashboard, report, Jira admin screen, or issue, any of those would count as activity. To keep your site active, log in and view something to restart the 120 days.

If you’re a site admin, we’ll send you emails to let you know if your site is at risk of being deactivated due to inactivity so you can log in and take action to prevent deactivation.

^ As far as I know, this deactivation policy is per product - so you need to login and do something in Confluence every 120 days to keep it from being deactivated.

One of my Free instances became inactive - and I was able to reactivate it through Atlassian Support, with all the data intact. However, whilst I don't know for sure, I'd assume at some point the data is deleted if the product is inactive for a longer period of time - so I'd just ensure you access Confluence every now and then, to avoid this happening.
