Users that have been on our instance for years are now not able to login because it asks them for an authentication code and they need a QR code or at least the secret key to set it up. Where can I get this information?

HI @Laurie Whelan

Welcome to the commity. Contact your Site or Org admin to ask what has changed.

Has SSO been set in place, are or has the been in place already and policies have been adapted.

If they are external users, the External User policy has to be cheked.

Hey @Laurie Whelan ,

On top of what Marc said, here's the official documentation related to this topic: Manage two-step verification for your Atlassian account 👉 This is if you're using built-in 2FA, but you could also enforce 2FA configuration from IdP (if you're using one)

However, this mainly depends on how your user provisioning and authentication have been configured. Org admins should definitely have more information on this and on any changes that might have taken place.

Cheers,
Tobi
