When is the data under the expand macro evaluated?

This question is in reference to Atlassian Documentation: Expand Macro

Is the data under the expand macro evaluated upon page load or upon expansion of the the macro?  Particularly JIRA filters on a confluence page?  If I put them under an expand macro with that improve the performance of the initial load of the page?

Hi Kristin,

As far as I am aware, the data under the expand macro is evaluated upon page load, so putting it under an expand macro will not improve page load performance. For that, you might want to look into the Cache for Confluence plugin.
