When inserting a link into a page, when clicked it opens a new web page/tab

I have inserted an external web url into a page but when I click on the link it opens in the same web page/tab.

Is there a way for it to force to open in a new web page/tab?

Out of the box, no you can't do it. You have to install a 3rd party app, which allows HTML code. An inside this html macro code you can place your href with _black target.
