Variable macro in Global template

Hi,

I have created a few forms in global templates so that my colleagues can easily create large documents with repetitive fill-in fields.

The issue is, that the variable fill-in field is so small (multi-line text, 1 row, 1 column), that when filling in, you can only see a few characters or something. Which is kind of dangerous for spelling errors etc... Below, you can see a sample of the box size.
  

Is there any way to make them bigger, or am I just applying the variable the wrong way/doing something else wrong?
