Using expand tool for displaying excerpts with page tree macro

Hi guys,

I'm trying to create a project summary page by including an excerpt on the section of parent page where it has a summary for weekly status.

What i used was the page tree macro and selected the option "Include excerpt in page tree" and used this under an expand macro.

However when it displays the excerpts on page tree, it presents all the excerpts (summaries) under each page on the page tree which makes the page too detailed.

Is there anyway to let the user select what they want to display from the page tree? 

Since the content is on a paragraph i used excerpt and not the page properties.
