User mapping for spaces imported from cloud to server instance of Confluence

Akhand Pratap Singh November 21, 2021

Hi All,

I am migrating few spaces from my Cloud instance to Server instance .
Issue is my server instance is not having users that were present in cloud.

Once I perform the migration and import the space and users are added afterwards, will they get mapped to that imported user id or it get's mapped only at the time of import?

Hi @Akhand Pratap Singh

By using Confluence Migration Assistance App, you can migrate the Users and Groups first and then the selected Spaces in Confluence Cloud.

Please follow the Doc below

https://support.atlassian.com/migration/docs/use-the-confluence-cloud-migration-assistant-to-migrate/

Thanks,
Pramodh

Hi @Pramodh M
Actually I am trying to move some spaces from Cloud to server and not the other way round.
Is there any migration app for cloud to Server migration.

Oops Missed out on that! Apologies

When you import a site export file, all user accounts are overwritten, including the system administrator account that was created when you installed Confluence. Your existing Cloud Site Admin account will not automatically have system administrator permissions for Confluence Server or Data Center.

Thanks
