I am looking to create a Space for company wide usage to serve as a location for general FAQ about topics.

We have 100+ users but only 10 of us actually use and have 'Standard' licenses.

Objectives:

  1. Allow company users to view-only certain internal-public Space(s)
  2. Secure the Space(s) to allow only internal employee to view. Can not be public to the world.

How can this be accomplished.?

Hello @Eddie Santana

Welcome to the Atlassian community!

With only the Standard subscription plan, your company wide users would need to be granted user licenses for Confluence to access the content (even read-only), given the native functionality of Jira.

I ran across this third party app that might help you meet your needs.

External Share for Confluence

• It can be used to share pages indiscriminately with the public, or for more money you have the options to share with specified individual email addresses and/or email domains. There are global settings that can be used to limit the sharing options available in the Spaces.
  • Shared pages are accessed through the vendor’s website, not directly through Confluence
  • If pages are shared with individual email addresses and/or email domains, the recipients have to register an account under the email address/domain on the vendor’s site in order to access the shared content.

It is possible to set up Anonymous Access to Confluence, however with the Standard plan you would not be able to restrict who could access the content. It would be open to the internet.

If you upgraded to the Premium subscription you would be able to set up IP Allowlists to then restrict the Anonymous Access from only specified IPs and CIDR ranges.

There is also a function that Atlassian is working on for sharing discrete page links, but the roll out has been postponed until later in 2023.
