Hi everyone,

My Confluence free plan (akhil-personal-projects.atlassian.net) was deactivated on December 5, 2025 due to inactivity. I unfortunately missed the warning emails.

Current situation:

  • I can still login to my account
  • But I cannot see any of my spaces or pages
  • When I go to /wiki/spaces, nothing shows up
  • I have important documentation that I need to recover

Questions:

  1. Is my data still recoverable at this stage?
  2. Is there any way to reactivate a free plan account or export the data?
  3. How much time do I have before permanent deletion?

I'm the admin on this free plan account. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Hi @akhil08agrawal ,

If your site is only deactivated, you can reactivate it. Your app’s data is retained for 15 days (for free subscriptions)

To reactivate a subscription:

  1. Go to admin.atlassian.com/billing. Select your billing account if you have more than one.

  2. On the Subscriptions page, select the Inactive tab.

  3. Find the subscription you’re looking for and select Reactivate.

  4. Review your subscription details and select Continue.

  5. Review your billing details. If they weren’t added before, you can add them now. If you select or add a new payment method, all subscriptions billed together in the same billing profile will be moved over to the new payment method.

  6. Select Confirm.

Your reactivated subscription will appear on admin.atlassian.com/billing under Subscriptions > Active. If you run into any issues when reactivating your subscription, contact Atlassian Support in https://www.atlassian.com/company/contact/purchasing-licensing#/

All details in https://support.atlassian.com/subscriptions-and-billing/docs/reactivate-a-subscription/

Hi @akhil08agrawal ,

Unfortunately, once a Confluence Free plan is deactivated due to inactivity, the site content is usually no longer accessible or recoverable, even though you can still log in to your Atlassian account. There’s no self-service way to reactivate the free plan or export the data.

Your only chance is to contact Atlassian Support immediately and ask whether the site is still within their internal recovery window  it’s not guaranteed, but it’s the only option.

If this answers your question, feel free to accept the solution so it can help others as well.

Regards

Karim

Hi @Karim Belhadj

Tried reaching out to the Support but wasn't able to.
Do they have any email?

The support chat bot wasn't helpful with this.

Thanks

Hi @akhil08agrawal ,

Atlassian doesn’t provide a direct support email. Support is only available through their help portal. If the chatbot blocks you, keep selecting options like “contact support” or “something else” until you can submit a ticket.

If the site is still within Atlassian’s internal recovery window, only support can confirm that.

If this helps clarify, feel free to accept the answer so others can benefit as well.

Regards

Karim
