Hi

I am getting the following error on installing Confluence to my DigitalOcean Ubuntu cloud VM. Can you please help me to understand what is the issue? Thanks,

Welcome to Atlassian Community! It's nice to have you.

Can you tell me, are you using the bundled Java DK or a standalone Java? What database are you using?

Could you also let us know what version of Confluence you were installing, and the exact method you're using?

Java versions:
Standalone Java:
openjdk 11.0.3 2019-04-16
OpenJDK Runtime Environment (build 11.0.3+7-Ubuntu-1ubuntu218.04.1)
OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM (build 11.0.3+7-Ubuntu-1ubuntu218.04.1, mixed mode, sharing)

Cptacionhank's container (https://github.com/cptactionhank/docker-atlassian-confluence):
OpenJDK 8 from Alpine Linux (Dockerfile states so)

Atlassian container (https://bitbucket.org/atlassian-docker/docker-atlassian-confluence-server):
OpenJDK 8 slim from adoptOpenJDK (Dockerfile)

Database:
a) PostgreSQL 10.9 (Ubuntu 10.9-0ubuntu0.18.04.1)
b) built-in.

Confluence version: 6.15.4 (all three).

Installation types:
a) Cptacionhank's container (https://github.com/cptactionhank/docker-atlassian-confluence)
b) Atlassian container (https://bitbucket.org/atlassian-docker/docker-atlassian-confluence-server)
c) TAR.GZ archive manual method.

Hello Vlad,

Thank you for following up.

From our Supported Platforms documentation, Java must be 1.8, or if you’re using OpenJDK, it must be AdoptOpenJDK (Java 8). Some AdoptOpenJDK versions have bugs that impact Confluence. We recommend version jdk8u192 or later.

For the PostgreSQL database, it must be 9.4, 9.5, or 9.6. Anything outside of that is not supported.

I would recommend making sure first that your environment is supported, and then we can proceed from there on getting your installation running.
