Unknown attachment appears instead of pictures

Hello,

sometimes. when I open the editor to edit a page in Confluence, the picture disappears and "Unknown attachment" appears. We did not delete the pictures before and this happens only a few times when opening the editor. We tried to provoke the bug to solve the problem on our own, but this is not possible. 

Can someone help?

welcome to this wonderful community.

Which version are you running? Is the attachment attached to the site or just linked to the page or maybe part of another site or even another site? Did the problem disappear after using the editor again? What size did the pictures have? Did you rename them? Do all users have this problem?

This could have several problems as you may see from my questions. Would be great if you could give us some more informations. 

We had a problem that the attachments where all stored on a page with restricted access which caused a similar problem (for some users).

first, thanks for your response!

We are running version 7.5.0 and we hope that our Confluence will be updatet to 7.10.0 soon. Maybe our problem will disappear when the system is updated.

The picture is attached to the same site the picture disappears when opening the editor. The problem still exists after using the editor again, the pictures are removed and "Unknown attachment" appears. This is very serious for our colleagues who care for our instructions, which are written down in Confluence. One instruction with more than 20 pictures had to be uploaded a few times since the problem occured the first time because the pictures were lost.

We use very different pictures, sometimes they are renamed, others are not. I am in knowledge of four colleagues (including myself) that had this problem in the last few weeks. I am the coordinator of the content which is uploaded in Confluence, so I have access to all the content.

sorry for not responding earlier - had some christmas trouble.

Was looking around and found a bug that may be interesting for you CONFSERVER-55928 and a known unsolved bug. What is strange are the attached versions. Maybe you wanna try out the workarounds - I made good experiences with turning off/on team sync. 

Also option 2 sounds promising!

Thanks for your reply.

We had seen this bug before but we were not sure about the versions either. The problem does not occur regularly, so we will wait for it to happen. We will try option two and I will keep you informed :-)
