I have been attempting to import a space that was exported from another Confluence cloud instance and continually receive an error. I additionally, exported a new space I just created and attempted to import that with the same result. I cannot find any clear error to indicate the reason for the issue, but I know it isn't a version problem clearly. Thoughts?
John,
Could you let us know what error message you're getting? Does this occur with and without attachments?
Regards,
Shannon
So initially I did not receive this error, but now it is resulting in the following:
Could not locate exportDescriptor.properties in Media Services
Note: There is an exportDescriptor.properties file in the zip file.

John,
Could you tell me if you unzipped the export at any point and re-zipped it? It seems that a lot of Cloud users are having this issue in macOS due to the way that it zips files.
If you can, please show me the content of the zip and its directories. All files should be at the root, including exportDescriptor.properties
Thank you!
Shannon

Hi John, Shannon,
What was the solution here - good to see you resolved it... somehow?
Cheers. Rhys

Hi Rhys,
The issue here was that the zip was unzipped and re-zipped on macOS. You'll want to make sure that you have the original download and don't re-zip it using Finder. If you need to, you can use Terminal for that.

Thanks, Shannon,
Yeah, thanks for the tips. It was a case of zipping the folder, that Finder created when unzipping, along with the other files, creating another layer so they were not at the root of the zip file.
So to correct it, zip the files and attachments together directly, not the folder they sit in.
Cheers. Rhys

Both that can occur and also the addition of hidden files that tend to cause problems, so we always recommend zipping the files directly and using Terminal to avoid any issues.
Glad you were able to sort it out!
Take care,
Shannon
