When navigating to Confluence > Confluence administration > Data management > Backup manager
I click on Create backup for cloud
But nothing happens, in the console i see 2 errors:
GET https://imengine.atlassian.net/wiki/rest/jiraanywhere/1.0/jim-validator/get-scanning-status 404 (Not Found)
and
GET https://imengine.atlassian.net/gateway/api/post-office/api/v1/placements/confluence-side-nav?workspaceAri=no-workspace-ari-available 400 (Bad Request)
We need to make monthly backups for our ISO27001 certification, so this is kinda urgent.
Hi @cindy,
My name is Eduarda, and I’m from the Confluence Cloud support team.
Thank you for bringing this to our attention.
We received similar reports about backups not starting and opened an internal ticket to track this. Our development team identified the root cause and is working on a fix. The fix should deploy in the next few hours. After that, you’ll be able to generate backups again.
If you'd like an update when the fix is released, please open a support ticket here.
Regards,
Eduarda
I don't see any open bugs reported for this, but maybe you want to look more thoroughly through this list (ordered by status; open at top): Backup Manager bugs. It could be in one of the closed bugs, or maybe you want to use different search criteria.

Cindy:
If you're required to make backups for audits you can check out Rewind - many companies need separation of data from production to backup. Altassian's solution might not provide that separation to ensure your backups are compliant.
At Rewind we do backups for Confluence and Jira, along with Github, Azure Devops, Bitbucket and more to come very soon (we'll be backing up Jira and Confluence plugins in the very near future to ensure you've got complete protection of your Atlassian data.)
We store your data encrypted in our own storage, and you can also move it into your own cloud storage to fulfill the 3-2-1 rule for proper backups.
You can check us out at https://rewind.com/

Hello and welcome to the Community @cindy
That does look wrong to me.
I had a very similar problem recently with the Create backup for cloud button, where the page loaded fine but clicking the button basically did nothing. So from what you showed, I would not assume this is expected behavior or that the option was removed.
The first thing I would still try is a quick check in an incognito/private window or another browser, just to rule out a local session or browser-side UI issue. But if it behaves the same there, I would stop spending too much time on local troubleshooting and open a support ticket with Atlassian.
Since you are on a paid Cloud plan, you should be able to raise that with support. I would include the screenshot, the exact time you tested it, and the browser console errors, and mention clearly that no export job starts and no download link appears after clicking the button.
If this is needed for audit/compliance, I would definitely go straight through support rather than waiting too long.

I am seeing this same issue, and I have tried Firefox, which I do not normally use, latest Chrome, incognito, and another computer. The screen appears to reload when I click the "Create backup for cloud" button, but the backup process does not appear to start, and after letting it sit for some time, there's no download link that appears later.
I need to do these backups for similar reasons to OP. I guess I'll be opening a support ticket.
