Task assigned on a page without permission

Hi all

we have a space where all meeting notes are listed. They are separated by parent pages for example "Management" and then as child pages the meeting notes of the different management meetings. The parent Page "Management" is protected so that only members of the management team can see it and the children.

Question:
What happens, if in one of these meeting notes a task is created and assigned to a person that is not in the management team and thus has no access to the page where the task was created?

Of course I have tried this and assigned a task to a team colleague on a page where she has no access to - but as I know that the task list macro (and tasks in general I think) sometimes takes ages to update, I am not sure now if the macro is delayed or if the task is just not shown in her list because there is no access to the page where the task has been created. (we waited for several hours though...)

Anyone tried that before?

Our goal is, that the task appears in the task list of the assignee so that he/she can do what is expected or check with someone from the management team. As he/she will not have access to the page, the task needs to be detailed enough to be able to fulfill it without checking the page itself.

In case that it is correct, that the task is not visible to the assignee without access to the site, I would expect some kind of warning or error message from Confluence at that point that the assignee will not see the task...

Thank you!

Verena

If i understand the permissions of Confluence correctly, your colleague won't see the task listed in the macro, and there won't be any warning from the Confluence side.
