Synchrony error

Synchrony will not start.  I had a password that contained the "$", which caused some problems even if Collaboration editing turned off that user was unable to edit the page. Changing my password allowed that user to edit pages. However, I can not turn on Collaboration editing.

I am seeing this error "java.lang.RuntimeException: com.atlassian.config.ConfigurationException: Could not retrieve Synchrony public key.. Listener: com.atlassian.confluence.plugins.synchrony.service.SynchronyContentService"

I found a knowhow article for this. Perhaps you can fix it with this:

• Confluence could not retrieve public key for real-time collaboration service from Synchrony
