Suggestion: Bidirectional page synchronization

OSIPOV Evgeny

Please add a feature that allows for "bidirectional page synchronization: when page A is updated, page B automatically updates, and vice versa".

Example:

Page A has an original text in language A.

When Page A gets updated, the contents are automatically synced with Page B, which has the text of Page A, but in language B.

This feature will allow quick, easy, reliable way to make/update/manage content across multiple languages, because you will update just the "source of truth", other variants will be updated automatically.

Thank you!

Hello @OSIPOV Evgeny

Welcome to the Atlassian community.

Given that this a community of users of the Confluence app it is not the best method for you to submit a product suggestion

There are two paths that ensure your suggestion reaches Atlassian.

  1. In the app click on the Help button near your avatar and use the Feedback button to access a form where you can submit your suggestion.
  2. Escalate your suggestion to the administrators of your Confluence environment. They can open a support case with Atlassian to submit your suggestion.

The other thing you can do is search the Atlassian Marketplace  to see if there is a third party app that will fulfill your requirement. If you find one follow your company's process for requesting you Confluence administrators consider acquiring that app.

Hi @OSIPOV Evgeny

For bi-directional Try Space Sync for Confluence by Ricksoft.

In fact, you can sync multiple spaces across multiple sites every which way.

Disclaimer: Not affiliated with Ricksoft, just a user of the app :)

Thank you @Kris Klima _K15t_

I will look into the app you suggested. Great info.

Do you happen to know if it can auto-translate, and not just sync the content?

I'm more interested in finding a way to keep the translated content up-to-date based on the one source-of-truth.

Example: A page (Original, English version) => B page (Translated, Japanese version).

If A gets updated, B gets synced and translated automatically.

Best regards.

Hi  @OSIPOV Evgeny

If translation is your main use case, then you can look at our Scroll Content Manager with the Translation add-on.

What it does it creates a carbon copy of a space (think of a pendant) with translated content. So every time you change the original page, its translated pendant will become 'outdated' (you can easily manage that).

Then it's up to you to decide how to translate that - send the XLIFF file to your localization provider, use Rovo or in-house translators.

You can technically combine Scroll Content Manager and Space Sync but that setup borders on metaphysics ;)

Disclaimer: I work for K15t now, company that sells the abovemention apps, but I'm speaking from the user's perspective having used and deployed those apps in the past as a customer.

Hello, @Kris Klima _K15t_

Thank you for your kind suggestions.

As my company is searching for "hands-free" solutions, we are more interested in Atlassian's Automation.

Unfortunately, it does not allow to copy the page contents as of now.

If it did, we could just create something like "If page A is edited, copy contents to page B, use Rovo AI to translate to language B".

I looked into apps you've mentioned, but they all require "manual" actions: pushing pages to sync, creating copies, translating manually... etc.

@OSIPOV Evgeny

They do because they're focused on knowledge content management and compliance. You can automate SOME actions but a human oversight is required. And that's before one considers proper localization/internationalization.

But your use case and requirements may be much more streamlined.
