Hi,
I am one of the Org Admins within our business. Please can anyone advise how I can prevent daily digest emails being sent to users across the business, and prevent update emails being sent to Confluence users across the business who are not part of any particular workspace? I know that individuals can unsubscribe from updates, but what I am looking to do is prevent these updates across the business and leave updates only going to members of each workspace. Thanks in advance.
Hey Ian,
To stop automatic digest and update emails for all users in Confluence Cloud, you need to disable email notifications at the site (instance) level as a Confluence administrator. Here’s how you can do it:
Go to Confluence Administration:
Click the settings icon (gear) in the top-right corner.
Navigate to Configuration:
Go to Settings > Configuration > General Configuration.
Edit Notification Settings:
Find the Email notification setting.
Toggle the setting to off.
When you disable email notifications at the site level:
No user on the Confluence instance will receive any email notifications (including daily digest, recommended updates, reminders, etc.), even if they have enabled them in their personal settings.
Users will not be able to override this setting individually until you re-enable it at the site level.
Note: This does not affect in-app (bell icon) notifications, which are managed separately.
If you only want to disable specific types of emails (like "Recommended updates"), you can do so from the same admin area under Notifications.
Summary:
As a Confluence admin, you can globally stop all automatic digest and update emails for all users by toggling off the "Email notification" setting in the Confluence site administration panel
