We had to use confluence and Stiltsoft Table Macro for a bigger project. Due to license cost we are moving away.
We want to keep our old data in an accessible form like PDF which works somehow for confluence pages. But it does not so much for tables created with the macro (using the confluence API we can download the attachments but they are a proprietory format and not rendered).
Is it in any way possible to either get a rendered version of the tables through API from our confluence OR to convert the TFSS files offline?
Hi @Marcus ,
I'm Anna from the Table Filter, Charts & Spreadsheets for Confluence app, which the Table Filter macro you mentioned belongs to.
As @Tomislav Tobijas suggested, I would also recommend you reach out to our support team, who can assist with your case.
Best wishes,
Anna
Hi @Marcus ,
I believe this is somewhat mentioned here as well CONFCLOUD-77735: Scroll PDF Exporter is unable to retrieve the rendered view of a page with altered tables from Table Toolbox
This might be a general API limitation related to third-party macros.
🤔 Now, I haven't played that much with this particular app/macro, but some ideas (on top of my head):
Have you maybe tried reaching out to Stiltsoft support and ask them about potential approaches here? Maybe they could help out or even get some extra things from their database 👀
Cheers,
Tobi

Thanks for your response!
Yeah, it's the same problem. Seems like a classic (and double) vender lock in problem.
Export to Word through API and UI has the same results.
Thanks for the hint regarding Stiltsoft support. I wasn't aware this option existed.
Bye,
Marcus
