Some context , we use Confluence as an eQMS. we are a med device company.
ok this seems like a super simple thing to do but cant quite properly execute at the moment.
We have a page that is a "master template". It can change from time to time though and so i do not want to use the actual "template" feature that is built into Confluence (UNLESS there is a way to get a confluence template to update when a "master template" updates but i havent found that to be possible).
All i want to do is create a button on the Packing Slips parent page which will copy the current version of the "master template" mentioned above which is just a form to be filled out. the copied page will then be published under the parent page such that it can be filled in.
I created a smart button for "rovo agent then publish page" but man the Rovo agent is doing a terrible job of copying the page...
It copied it but loses all formating... the table becomes a bunch of verticle lines... So weird.
Would like to create many of these buttons for form filling.
Thanks in advance !!!!!
@Jason Zhang Have you tried adding the Create from Template macro on your Packing Slips page for your button? See https://support.atlassian.com/confluence-cloud/docs/insert-the-create-from-template-macro/
This doesn't publish the page for you, but maybe there's an automation action that would do the same thing?
Hey @Jason Zhang ,
I mean... with the current approach, the only plausible way (and most efficient one) would be to use copy/duplicate option from this master template page. It's not 'a button,' per se, but a native solution to copy something.
If you'd use a simple action to copy content, would that cover it? This should preserve formatting, but it's currently not possible to add custom automations to smart buttons (see CONFCLOUD-79704)
I'd suggest (re)considering using page/content templates > as these are meant to be used when you have these kinds of requirements. 👀
When it comes to Rovo, there are a couple of, let's say, related bugs and feature request:
