Signed SSL Cert for Confluence coming up - same process as the initial setup?

I have until June 21, 2017 to renew our signed SSL cert from Digicert, and I am wondering if I need to follow all the steps of generating a CSR and importing the signed cert from our CA, digicert, or if the renewal process is different.
