Searching Confluence for all pages created in April 2016, with a specific title, created by a specific user

Deleted user April 29, 2016

Hi,

I'm searching Confluence for all pages created in April 2016, with a specific title, created by a specific user and the general search isn't working for me.

I'm not familiar with CQL or where to insert it in the search fields.

I'm going to the in-depth search and typing "doctitle AND April AND 2016 AND creator:Name" and I'm not getting much specifics, just a lot of general docs not fitting in with the search.

Any help much appreciated.

Thanks

Jat

Hi Jat,

The answer depends on your version of Confluence.  If you are using one of the newer versions of Confluence (5.9 or Cloud), then it is super easy.  Just search for nothing (click in the search bar and press enter), and then on the left side of the screen at the bottom you will see a link called "Add a Filter".  There you can choose Creator, Created, and Title (after choosing one, simply click "Add a Filter" again).  Also make sure you choose type "Page" a little bit above that.

If you're not using the newest version of Confluence, it's a little more difficult.  Searching by creator doesn't really work, because the Confluence search stores the creator as the user key (16-character key), not as the user ID.  You can search for both Creator/Modifier by putting the user name in the "By" box at the top-left of the search screen, though. You can search for the title simply by placing it in the search field, and you can search for all pages created in April by including "AND created:[20160401 TO 20160430]"

More information about the search syntax can be found here (make sure to choose your version at the top):
