Hi Atlassian Community,
I’m currently using Confluence to manage content for TokuPlay, including app descriptions, updates, and feature notes. Recently, I’ve been facing an annoying issue where images and embedded media duplicate after editing and saving a page—even when no changes are made to the media itself. In some cases, the duplication multiplies and adds extra slashes or line breaks, which completely disrupts the layout.
This problem seems to appear more often when content is pasted from external editors, when media is placed near bullet points or code blocks, or when autosave triggers mid-edit. I’ve tried cleaning things up in source/markup mode, but the issue returns after saving again.
Has anyone else noticed this behavior in recent Confluence Cloud versions? Are there any known fixes, browser-related causes, or best practices to avoid media duplication while editing rich text pages?
Thanks in advance for any insights!
Hey @Archie ,
There are some resources that refer to what you're experiencing:
Apparently, those are known issues when it comes to pasting from third-party editors.
Some workarounds you could use:
Try to paste as plain text first
Upload images directly
Clean up in the source editor
Copy-paste via an intermediate editor
Not ideal for sure, but I'm not aware if there are any other solutions for this behavior :/
Cheers,
Tobi
