We plan to configure Confluence so that users can only see a specific space and view content (no editing). Given that our Jira Software, Jira Service Management, and Confluence licenses are limited, will this setup require Confluence licenses for those users?
Specifically, if Mr. A has a Jira Software license, can he access and view our KM space in Confluence without consuming a Confluence license?

HI @Jakkarins ,

In an organisation where you have Jira Service Management, you can utilise a Confluence Space as knowledge base and make that accessible for users, even without Confluence licenses. The access of that knowledge base will then be via the Portal though.

Just make sure to give all your employees a customer account for JSM. These do not require a license, since they are just Customers; not Agents. Best is to assign all users to a Group, and assign that group Customer permission.

Then setup your Confluence space as Knowledge base for your JSM project. See https://support.atlassian.com/jira/kb/how-jsm-customers-with-an-atlassian-account-can-view-confluence-pages-without-having-a-license/

Now any employee can access the knowledge base via the portal. Even users that only have a Jira Software license.

Hope that helps.

Have a nice day!

Rik
