Reporting Jira information on Confluence pages

Miki December 29, 2022

Greeting,
I'm trying to make a report in Confluence according to the tutorial from Atlass and I can't get the data.
It is about the following:
Epic report
Steps:
Add Jira Report
Select Status Report -> Next
Select Project
Switch to advanced -> Jira Query "Epic Link"= IAP-107
Title - Epic Report -> Create
Results = 0 issues

And if I go to create a report for the entire project, then I get the results.

Can someone help me, please?
Thanks a lot
M

Hello @Miki

Welcome to the Atlassian community!

Can you provide a link to the tutorial you're referencing?

Is the IAP project a Team Managed project? If so you need to use "Parent" instead of "Epic Link" in the JQL.

Miki December 30, 2022

No, it's not a Team Managed project. :/

But I tried your proposal and it works.
Thanks a lot.

If you want to debug this more...

Please show us the detail of the IAP-107 issue to show us what type of issue it is, and the list of its child issues.

Please show us the type of the IAP project (Team vs. Company). This can be found in the navigation pane, and it can also be found in the View All Projects page.

Project IAP is a Team-Manage software type.

And IAP-107 is Epic in that project

Hello @Miki

Thank you for sharing that information.

So, when I initially asked if it was a Team Managed project you said it was not. But when I asked to see the info, as you found out it is in fact a Team Managed project.

That is why "Epic Link" does not work but "Parent" does.

Team Managed projects don't use the "Epic Link" field. That is used only by Company Managed projects. Team Managed projects instead use the "Parent" field in the child issues to record the issue key of their parent Epic.

Atlassian is making updates to Jira Software Cloud so that in the future Company Managed projects will also use the "Parent" field instead of "Epic Link".  There are two articles about changes being made to Epics:

https://support.atlassian.com/jira-software-cloud/docs/maintain-epic-link-data-for-issues-above-the-epic-level/

https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Jira-Software-articles/Upcoming-changes-to-epic-fields-in-company-managed-projects/ba-p/1997562

I apologize for the misunderstanding.
Thanks a lot for the help and the articles.
