I signed up for free account on iPhone 12 Safari webpage. I received confirmation email that led to blank page. I then downloaded the Confluence app. I was able to make many edits but the Blog feature is not working. I cannot edit the initial/default blog post, and I cannot create new blog posts. So then I tried logging in on my Windows 10 laptop Chrome browser. It recognized my log-in but does show the site I created. I am new to Confluence so maybe I'm missing something critical. I want to test this with my group but these are lots of issues just getting started.
Hi @Linda Wallace and welcome to the community,
I'm a bit confused about your question. Did you download and installed Confluence on your computer or you are logging in to a site similar to abcde.atlassian.net?
These are steps I have tried following prompts along the way. I doubt this is the intended result but difficult for a new user to navigate to right place.
1) I signed up for free account on iPhone 12 Safari webpage.
2) I received confirmation email that led to blank page.
3) I then downloaded the Confluence app on my iPhone.
4) I logged into app on the iPhone and was able to make many edits but the Blog feature is not working. I cannot edit the initial/default blog post, and I cannot create new blog posts.
5) I then tried to go to my Windows laptop to login using Chrome browser. This is screenshot on what I see when I try to login. It recognizes my email but says my page is taken.
I didn't try the Confluence app on the laptop since this is already alot of confusing steps but I can try that too.

Linda the pic you posted above is for getting a cloud instance (thus not downloading confluence to your pc). Step 3 is something you shouldn't do. After signing up, you would be navigated to your instance.

Ok - well you all have the steps I tried. I give up and I’m moving on since this didn’t work out.
