Permissioning Research

Taylor Turner January 18, 2022

Hello,

I am trying to edit a space and I am wondering the following:

  1. admins - can see and edit everything owned by the Company
  2. general admins - can see and edit everything in the general space
  3. viewers - can see everything in general and edit some files on a case-by-case basis

Is it possible to do this? Would I have to edit the access for each and every member that is invited to the 'space.'

I am new to this community and I am having a harder time understanding it

Thank you!

Hi @Taylor Turner

Yes, this is very much possible.

At the global level, Confluence Administrator and System Administrator permissions govern who can control system-wide administrative settings.

Space Administrators: can control administrative functions within a space only

If you use Confluence for documentation, as a knowledge base, you might want to make your site public. This means people don't need to log in to use Confluence. For this Space Admins can grant anonymous user permissions to their space, they can also add individual users/groups as required who can view/edit specific pages within the space.

You can read more about the permissions on below links -

Hope this helps.
