Password policy for Confluence

Deleted user February 12, 2018

Hi There!

I'm looking for a way for me to put a password policy, like password length and strength requirements. Also if a user of my space clicks forgot password and or when a new password is changed for any user, I as an admin would get notified by an email.

Is it possible to do it without an add-on?

I've seen an add-on which is linked below, but maybe there is another way for me to do this without an add-on or maybe there is a better add-on to use. https://marketplace.atlassian.com/plugins/com.intenso.confluence.plugins.confluence-password-policy/server/overview.

Thanks!

Hi Jarvin,

There is nothing built-in to Confluence to set rules around password complexity as you suggest, however there are add-ons that provide this functionality as you’ve already found. Depending on whether or not you’re using an Internal User Directory or not you can set policy rules via whatever you are using to manage user access.

Hi Mitchell,

Any other add-ons that you could recommend besides the one I found?

Thanks!

I would recommend the one that you have already found as the best option available for eastablishing a password policy in Confluence.
