Page heading reset on export to pdf

While exporting children pages heading number resets, which compromises the intended structure of output. Any option to resolve this issue.  In detail below:

My content are in different pages and each section having hundreds of pages. 

I wish to download section 2 separately in pdf, however heading number reset to 1 in export

Hi @Tom Cherian welcome to the community.  Although it's not an exact match, CONFSERVER-57510 and CONFSERVER-19430 sounds very similar to your issue where the numbers are missing and/or out of sync.  

If you think they're related, I would suggest voting for and watching them. 

I understand it may not be practical, but if you export the whole document, is the numbering correct?  Until this was addressed, you could then edit the whole PDF and strip out just the pages you are looking for to get the document the way you like it. 

If you don't think those tickets are your issue, and you can replicate the issue using the latest code, you could also write up a new issue for Atlassian to review.
