Hello,
My team recently transitioned to using Confluence and are learning how to best use it for our purposes. We are transitioning from using traditional Microsoft products to the digital realm. However, I'm trying to figure out a way to archive page content on a weekly basis, similar to how the save as function works in Microsoft.
In Confluence, this is easy enough with the copy feature. The issue I'm running into is with the use of some macros to keep the single source of truth - like the Excerpt Include and Include Page macros. If I copy a page with these macros, and make an edit to the excerpt, the copied page's content updates as well - which is not what I want. I'm looking to keep the copied page as a snapshot in time of the displayed content. Is it possible to prevent these macros from updating on copied, or specific pages, to keep a weekly progress record?
I noticed the recent addition of the Archive feature in Confluence Cloud. I have not used this feature to know if it would meet my purposes, but unfortunately, my team is using a server addition, and does not have this recent update. I had admin permissions within the Confluence space, but not for the site.
Hi @Anna Freundt ,
Maybe you can try to export page to a Word document and then import it back using Import Word Document that creates new page - it should work like a snapshot and in addition you would have a offline version of a page already that you can also store somewhere.
Hope it helps :)
