Notifications are not not properly propagated.

There is a request access button on the restricted space and we want the larger group to get notified when somebody is requesting for access. Can we send notifications to a larger group for the restricted space.

If I'm not mistaken, these Space access requests are send to the Space Administrators. 

If you want to make sure more people receive the request, you can make them Space Administrator. That does give them the actual permission to administer the Space though 😄

If you really want to get creative, you could setup a distribution group in Entra or something similar. And then create a Confluence user with the email address for that distribution group.
