Notification if I add a person to a calendar event?

Hi all,

I want to use Confluence calendars to create a vacation overview. Currently it is just for myself. Thats why I want to know what happens when I create an vacation event for one of my colleagues. Does he get a notification / an invite?

Thanks in advance!

Lars

Hi @larsneidhold ,

Yeah... this isn't possible at the moment. There are a couple of workarounds though:

  • @Mention in the Description: When creating the event, you can @mention your colleague in the Description field. This will trigger a standard Confluence mention notification for them.

  • Jira Integration: If your organization uses Jira for leave requests, you can set up the calendar to automatically pull "Leave Request" issues. In this workflow, the colleague is notified via Jira when the request is created or approved, and it then automatically appears on the Confluence calendar.

  • Calendar Subscriptions: Encourage your colleague to subscribe to the Team Calendar from their personal calendar app (like Outlook or Google). This way, any event you add for them will appear directly in their primary calendar view

Although we did use Jira integration at one point and that worked relatively well, it wasn't exact same use case. 👀

You could also maybe check if there are any open feature requests on that topic. I did take a quick glimpse but couldn't find anything.

Cheers,
Tobi

Hi @larsneidhold

I don't think it is feasible.

Best,
