I appear to be logged in correctly, I can see my initials on the top right of each page. However, I cannot access any of my teams confluence pages - I get a message saying I don't have access despite my confluence admin insisting I have the same privileges as other team members who can access these pages.

To make this stranger, when I click on my initials in the top right i see the below which includes both the option to log in and to log out. Again, none of my colleagues see this, they see a regular set of profile options. If I click log in here, I get a 500 error, again I have attached this belowconfluence 2.png Logging out and back in has no effect. Can anyone help?

@Chris Archer Welcome to the Atlassian community.

I get the same screen as you when I am in Atlassian Home (home.atlassian.com), except that I don't have a Log in option, since I'm already logged in, so I presume that is where you are.

I find it odd that you have both Log in and Log out options at the same time. You might want to try some browser troubleshooting—clear cache, disable browser extensions, try incognito mode, try a different browser.

A thought: Check with your Confluence Admin to make sure they didn't mistype your email address when adding you as a Confluence user. You may be logging on to Atlassian Home with the user account for Jira or something, while Confluence is expecting a different account.

Once you log in, where in the steps below do you get the message that you don't have access?

  1. Select Confluence with the App Switcher or in the Home sidebar to open the Confluence For you page.
If this is when you get the message, it may be the typo in the account name issue.
  2. Select Spaces in the sidebar and then start typing some text in the name of your team's Confluence space until it appears below the search box.
  3. Select the Space to open it. If this is when you get the message:
    • Check with your Confluence Admin to make sure they added you to a group or set your individual permissions such that you have access to the space.
    • Ask a space admin (your Confluence admin may or may not be a space admin for this space) to make sure your group or individual user has at least View permissions in the space.

Try selecting switch account. you appear to have more than one account.

I do as well one with my work email and one with my personal email ( my initials show up the same for both) so it can be confusing when I accidently get on the wrong one.

Thanks for your response! I tried this and the only account it shows that I can switch to is the main one I am already using - the only other option is to Add Another Account which I don't have
