I am unable to edit documents in confluence via the companion app, despite it being installed (and function for the last year).  The attempt always times-out, resulting in being prompted in install the companion app.

I am running firefox 88 (latest update) on windows 10.

I use confluence through the University of Melbourne, which runs an SSO.

I reinstalled the companion app to ensure it was up to date (had to do this manually as the app couldn't update itself.

The companion.log suggests two errors occur, first on start up the auto updater can't find a page:

error: adc:auto-updater 2021-04-27T00:05:30.199Z Error: Command failed: 4294967295
System.AggregateException: One or more errors occurred. ---> System.Net.WebException: The remote name could not be resolved: 'update-nucleus.atlassian.com'
at System.Net.HttpWebRequest.EndGetResponse(IAsyncResult asyncResult)

The error that occurs when attempting to edit a file, i think that this is just the request timing out:

info: adc:serverauth 2021-04-27T00:13:23.874Z Found trusted domain in database: wiki.unimelb.edu.au
error: adc:ServerFacade 2021-04-27T00:13:24.361Z Could not get temp link information:
error: adc:ServerFacade 2021-04-27T00:13:24.362Z SyntaxError: Unexpected token < in JSON at position 0

Any help would be great, this has been a very convenient feature for me over the last year.

@Nikolai Dontschuk Welcome to the Atlassian Community

Have you confirmed with the Confluence Admins that the instance is still set up to allow the companion app to run?  It could also be a network issue like a change to a firewall or if you have an F5 proxy running.
