New User can't login

A complete new user with permission to Confluence and Jira always gets the following message:

"Your account has been deactivated.

Your organization has deactivated your account."

I don't understand why.

Neither Google nor E-Mail login is possible.

I got the info that our company once already had a different account. where the user with this email address might have been deaktivated. but is this influencing the new company account?

We have no Active Directory.

The new user has the default groups "confluence-users" and "jira-software-users".

I assume the user is active because I can just click "deactivate" or "delete".

Both Jira and Confluence are ticked.

But the user is in the "inactive" list. I guess because a login was not yet possible.

Hi - the first two things that come to mind:

  1. If you run Atlassian Users from Active Directory, the user may be deactivated in your organizations Active Directory OR:
  2. Go to JIRA ADMINISTRATION > User management and find the user that is having issues. Click 'Edit' and make sure the 'Active' checkbox is selected.

Hope this is helpful!
