My company confluence is open to the public. It needs to be private.

How do I change the whole instance to be private ? Only let users with a login access.

Hi @Kate McKenna ,

welcome to the Atlassian Community!

Please, navigate to the Confluence Administration -> Global permissions -> Anonymous access

Here you should be able to set, if anonymous users can use your Confluence or view user profiles. So, please disable the both options.

Each space has a permission for "anonymous" access - if you remove that, the space will need people to log in to see it.

This is also a global setting - go to Admin -> global permissions and look for the anonymous access tab.  Turn it off.  (It will remove the anonymous options from the spaces too, the global flag needs to be enabled for the spaces to use it)
