I accidently moved the home page and nested child pages into a different space. Now when I go to move them back to their original home, I can't select the original space. The move button is greyed out. Here's the process I'm following:
1) select home page on left toolbar, click on 3 dots ...

2) select move

3) select the space in the dropdown I want to move the pages back to

4) move button is greyed out

I've also tried creating a new space and moving them there. same, same.

Is this a role permission thing? I'm set as admin in the account so I don't understand how that could be. It let me move them just fine. It just won't let me move them back.

Thanks for any advice. I really appreciate it!

Hi @Paula Morton ,

moving a page is directly tied to "Delete" permissions, but there are some nuances in the Confluence Cloud Free Plan.

Troubleshooting Steps for Permissions

  1. Test Deletion: Create a dummy page in the current space and try to delete it. If you can't delete it, you lack the necessary permission in this space.

  2. Check the Lock Icon: Look at the top right of the page you're trying to move. If there's a Lock icon, click it to ensure no restrictions are blocking you.

  3. Test Creation: Go to the target space and try to create a new page. If you can't, you lack "Add Page" permissions there.

  4. "Duplicate Page Titles" remains the most likely reason for a greyed-out button on the Free plan. I recommend renaming the page first
